Experience the spectacular Punakha Tsechu (Festival), held in the grounds of the magnificent Punakha Dzong. A Tsechu is a Buddhist festival in honour of Guru Rimpoche, the saint who brought Buddhism to Bhutan. Locals gather in a spirit of festivity, celebration and deep faith to witness unique masked dances and celebrations.

The Tsechu is one of the best ways to experience the ancient living culture of Bhutan. Also visit sacred sites in Paro, Thimphu, Punakha and view the Black-Necked Cranes in the beautiful Phobjikha Valley.

Day 1
Arrive Paro – Thimphu

Tamchog Lhakhang, Tashi Chhodzong and later evening stroll down the Thimphu city.

Day 2
Thimphu Sightseeing

Buddha Point, National Memorial Chorten, Changangkha Lhakhang, Takin Zoo, Textile Museum, Postal Museum and Folk Heritage Museum.

Day 3
Thimphu – Punakha

Dochula pass, Botanical Garden, Chimi Lhakhang & Punakha Dzong.

Day 4
Punakha – Paro

Morning attend Punakha festival and then drive to Paro Valley. En-route visit Simtokha Dzong and Rimpung Dzong.

Day 5
Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery

Morning hike to Tiger’s Monastery. Afternoon visit Rimpung Dzong and Ta Dzong.

Day 6
Excursion to Chelela Pass

Drive to Chelela pass. Its a two hours drive from Paro. Later on visit Drukgyal Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang.

Day 7
Depart from Paro

After breakfast, drive towards airport for onward journey.
